The site of Expo ’74, Riverfront Park has been redeveloped to cultivate a more functional open space within the city and reinforce pedestrian connections between downtown and the northern bank of the Spokane River. The lighting design creates cohesive lighting strategies for different circulation types throughout the park, provides wayfinding legibility for the primary connector through the park, and develops inviting experiential lighting to establish spaces for gathering and pause.
Inspired by the built and natural elements of the park, the lighting design creates an inviting, visually rich environment that encourages visitors to use the park at all times of the day.
