Previously lit only by historic pendants and wall sconces using "candle flame" bulbs, light levels in the Chapel were inadequate for reading hymnals. Low-profile track and fixtures were added to the wood beams to increase light levels and allow the traditional fixtures to provide a soft luminescence to the space.
The wood ceiling structure, floors, and woodwork now glow warmly. Meticulous planning ensured that new lighting minimally impacted the landmarked structure. The supplemental track was designed to be as small as possible, mounted where least visible, and finished in an oil-rubbed bronze to closely match the wood beams. Multi-scene controls allow easy selection of light to support the many uses of the space, from worship to concerts.
