Ben Salzman

Ben began his lighting design career in 2017 after independent study of lighting, architecture, and Revit. He grew up visiting places like the Robie house in Chicago, watching his Dad’s work as a landscape architect and drawing perspective sketches. A career shift to lighting design brought to life a foundation laid from a young age. 

As a lighting designer, he takes pleasure in exploring the architects’ vision and composition of a space and collaborating with the design team to help choreograph people’s experience with appropriate lighting effects. He enjoys considering the balance and tension of emphasis, rhythm, and restraint to bring spaces to life.
